SPS Member Profile

I have a lifelong passion for art, beginning with childhood creative activities in the Philippines and dabbling in lettering and calligraphy in high school. After pursuing a degree and career in Physical Therapy, and subsequently moving to the United States, I rediscovered art, initially as a distraction from homesickness and later on during pregnancy. While balancing motherhood and career, and taking art classes over the years, I gradually gained confidence in my artistic skills, especially after my color pencil painting was accepted in my first entry to an open-juried show in 2018. I later discovered soft pastels as my medium of choice and received an Honorable Mention Award for "Jackson Lake" in February 2025 and a First Place for "Walk Me" in July 2025. I am a current member of the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay and Left Coast Pastel Painters Society.
