SPS Member Profile

My journey as an artist began in 8th grade when I took the first prize in a regional art competition. This lit a creative fire that burns bright today. After time in the military, a fine art degree and the blessings of a beautiful family, I am producing original art, teaching workshops and entering competitions. I fell in love with pastel early on. I was mentored by a world class pastelist and traveled to Europe to study the masters. I paint en plein air whenever possible, but when not, I am in my studio. I enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan with its lakes and farmland and now a home in the mountains of northern Georgia, the best of both worlds.
