SPS Member Profile

Laura Pollak is an award winning artist exhibiting in International Shows, Museums, Galleries and publications as Strokes of Genius and several times in Pastel 100. Born in Detroit Michigan, Laura loves the arts; studying ballet, piano, ceramics and painting. She now splits her time between Greensboro, NC and Naples Florida. Pollak has a Master of Arts in Graphic Design from MSU. She worked in advertising on clients as Sears, Nortel, Kraft, Kodak and GM and started her own successful ad agency in NC with clients around the State and Northeast. Laura is now a full time professional artist as well as workshop teacher. She was President of the Pastel Society of North Carolina for 2 years. ‘My favorite accomplishment was creating a FB group for professional Pastel Artists who teach to help us all learn how to use Zoom to teach online during COVID. We went from 3 artists to 100 worldwide!’
